Surprise!! You're 45 and pregnant!!
(or for wondering if you can have a baby after 45)
I always knew I wanted more than one child, and kept hoping, praying for another child up to my 45th birthday. Then I thought, well, it must not be on God's plan for me to have anymore children. I was certainly thankful for the one child I had head on earth. Our beautiful, amazing 11 year old daughter.
I 'm excited to share my story for mom's out there who are where I was 4 years ago and are looking for help, guidance, encouragement...whatever it is...I've got it here!! My experience does not end after birth, I have much to share up to age 4 now. It's been a amazing adventure!
From excitement to fear, to- can we afford this; will there be any other mom's my age in kindergarten, at the soccer games; will I be called Grandma; will people think my daughter is the mother? So many, many thoughts went Th my through my head. Actually most of those thoughts came later, the primary thought my husband and I had was will our baby be healthy. **That is very scary when you are 45, and your OBGYN, tells you the statistics of having a healthy baby at your age are pretty low. (but don't let that scare you!! I have great news for you!! I'll be writing out later :-)
I was thankful to have my husband +Larry Quackenbush and family Elise Q, her sisters and parents in town for support. Now don't be discouraged if you don't have family, or even friends in town to support you. There is plenty of time for you to find that. I will share with you later where you can find friends and support in your town or city. There are more that enough people out there who want to help and listen and be there for you through your pregnancy and beyond. So don't worry, just stay tuned and I will continue my blog.
If you have questions right now: please don't hesitate to ask, no question is to small. Any thought your are having from the shortest question to something very pressing you desire to discuss or ask...feel free. And if you want to be anonymous, there is a button to click for that as well.
I am new to blogging, so be patient with me as I share the amazing adventure of having a child after 45!! I have four +years to share with you, my experience as well as people that were there to help me and advice I've gleaned from many wonderful sources during the pregnancy and over the four years since! I will be happy to include my sources for you as well.
Just know right now, You have been given a wonderful amazing blessing!!
(more about that later :-)
Take Care for now, and be good to you,
Cathie
